Lung Cancer Hospital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

Lung cancer is often silent in its early stages. A persistent cough, unexplained weight loss, breathlessness, chest pain, or blood in sputum should never be ignored. Early detection significantly improves survival and expands treatment options. Our management is structured, evidence-based, and tailored to disease biology, stage, and patient fitness. Care pathways follow contemporary international protocols with multidisciplinary review.

Lung Cancer is of different types

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer - Subtypes are
    Adenocarcinoma
    Squamous cell carcinoma
    Large cell carcinoma
    Small Cell Lung Cancer

More aggressive and rapidly growing, often requiring combined modality treatment. Precise histopathology and molecular profiling guide treatment selection.

    Risk Factors

    Active or passive smoking
Occupational exposure (asbestos, silica, heavy metals)
    Air pollution
    Radon exposure
    Family history

    Diagnostic Workup

Accurate staging determines prognosis and treatment strategy. Investigations may include:

    Contrast-enhanced CT scan of chest
    PET-CT for systemic staging
    Bronchoscopy with biopsy
    CT-guided needle biopsy
Molecular testing (EGFR, ALK, ROS1, BRAF, PD-L1 and others when indicated)

Comprehensive molecular profiling is essential in advanced NSCLC to identify targeted therapy options.

    Treatment Approach

Treatment depends on stage, molecular profile, and patient performance status.

    • For early-stage disease (Stage I–IIIA in selected cases). Lobectomy with lymph node dissection is the standard curative procedure.

Complex radiation planning is coordinated with centers equipped with advanced linear accelerators.

    Outcomes

Lung cancer survival has improved significantly over the past decade due to molecular testing and immunotherapy. The focus is not only on prolonging survival but also preserving quality of life.

    FAQ’s

    • No. While smoking is the leading cause, a significant percentage of patients—especially adenocarcinoma cases—occur in non-smokers due to environmental exposure, genetic factors, or air pollution.
